Phil Plait is an astronomer, author, and skeptic. After gaining his Ph.D., Dr. Plait worked on the Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (part of the Hubble Space Telescope) for five years. His writings include articles in Astronomy, Muse, and The Boston Globe, and two books, Bad Astronomy and Death from the Skies. Dr. Plait has appeared many times on radio and TV to discuss scientific questions. He is a past president of the James Randi Educational Foundation, and has a popular blog.
