Peter B. Moyle, who works at the University of California/Davis, has been studying the ecology and conservation of freshwater and estuarine fishes in California for nearly 40 years. Moyle has documented the decline of many native species in California as well as the invasions of alien species. He is working on restoration of the San Joaquin River. He is author or coauthor of over 160 peer-reviewed scientific papers and five books. He is a professor of fish biology in the Department of Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology, UC/Davis, where he teaches basic courses in fish biology, wildlife conservation and watershed ecology.
