Mylea Bayless is a conservation biologist at Bat Conservation International (BCI) in Austin, Texas, the city with the largest urban bat population in North America. Bayless has been engaged in bat research for over a decade. She studies southeastern myotis and Rafinesque’s big-eared bats. She also coordinates efforts among academic institutions, government agencies and BCI to understand and stop the spread of white nose syndrome.
