Malcolm Potts researches how reproductive health influences not only women and their families, but society as a whole. He is the author of Sex and War: How Biology Explains Warfare and Terrorism and Offers a Path to a Safer World. In 2009, he won the Population Institute’s Global Media Award for his op-ed, “The War for Afghanistan’s Women.” Dr. Potts holds the Fred H. Bixby endowed chair in Population and Family Planning at the University of California/Berkeley, and works with the Bixby Center for Population, Health, and Sustainability.
