Karen Goldberg is director of the Center for Enabling New Technologies through Catalysis (CENTC). Her group researches catalysts – chemicals that assist in synthesizing new fuels among other products. CENTC, composed of scientists from 13 universities in the US and Canada, looks at more efficient, inexpensive and environmentally friendly ways to make chemicals and fuels from natural resources like coal, shale, and biomass.
