John Grotzinger is the Fletcher Jones Professor of Geology at California Institute of Technology under the Division of Geological and Planetary Sciences. Dr. Grotzinger is the Project Scientist for the Mars Science Laboratory Rover mission, which will explore the surface of Mars throughout 2012-2013 for signs of habitable environments. He is also a member of the Mars Exploration Rover Science Team, and HiRISE camera imaging team on Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. Grotzinger researches the evolution of surficial environments on Earth and Mars.
