Johannes Lehmann’s research covers many aspects of soil including fertility management and biogeochemistry, dryland research, nutrient cycling in irrigation systems, and rehabilitation of highly weathered soils in the humid tropics. Before his appointment at Cornell University, he coordinated an interdisciplinary research project on nutrient and carbon management in the central Amazon. He has worked in in Sudan, Togo, Tanzania, Kenya, Malawi, Brazil, Colombia and Ecuador.
