Joe Powell is a Chief Scientist for Shell. He leads research in chemical engineering and process development and works in programs related to specialist chemicals, renewable energy, CO2 capture, enhanced oil recovery and new materials. He holds more than 45 patents and several industry awards – most recently the University of Wisconsin College of Engineering Distinguished Achievement Award in 2009.
