Jeff Mount understands rivers. He is a geology professor and director at the Center for Watershed Sciences at the University of California/Davis, with primary research interests in the geomorphology and ecology of rivers and streams. Specifically, he studies their response to changes in land use and land cover, as well as flow regulation. He also deals with the assessment and restoration of streams and rivers. Dr. Mount is currently on sabbatical, working on book projects.
