David Hone is a climate change adviser for Shell and a board member and vice-chairman of the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA). He also works closely with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and has been a lead contributor to many of its recent energy and climate change publications. After graduating as a chemical engineer, Hone worked in several varied areas of the petroleum industry: as a refinery engineer in Australia and the Netherlands, in energy economics and supply, as an oil trader for Shell, and in global trading and chartering of Shell’s crude oil tanker fleet.
