Chris Field won one of 10 Heinz Awards for 2009. Dr. Field’s achievements include his contributions toward understanding the impacts of climate change on the earth’s ecosystems as (both local and global) well as for his leadership in bringing together science and policy. He is professor of Biology and Environmental Earth System Science at Stanford University and serves as director of Stanford’s Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve and of the Carnegie Institution’s Department of Global Ecology.
