Nature-lovers explore American forests in new EarthSky series

EarthSky users will be able to explore American forests from many vantage points in 2009, with a series of nine new EarthSky podcasts focused on the forests. The American forest series – to be released over the course of 2009 – begins with Janaki Alavalapati, Head of the Department of Forestry at Virginia Tech, explaining how to use forests sustainably as a renewable energy source, in a way that promotes forest health. More interviews and podcasts with experts in the fields of forestry and conservation will follow throughout this year.

Each of the 9 podcasts will be heard 15 million times around the globe on EarthSky’s global broadcast network. The forest series is made possible by a partnership with the American Forest Foundation.

The EarthSky Promise: To bring the ideas, strategies and research results of scientists to people around the world, with the goal of illuminating pathways to a sustainable future.

One Response to Nature-lovers explore American forests in new EarthSky series

  1. Nick Wozniak says:

Wow! For Now. This is amazing. I gave up back in 1975. I just went out and had fun. Then, in 1979, i came back to my home town and realized that my hopes and dreams were not only flights of fantasy, but rather rudimentary awakenings to reality. So, three cheers to EarthSky. You are my soul mates.

    More later.

    Nicholas Joseph Wozniak.
