Science is being savaged, and the family of humanity intentionally confused, by the pernicious rhetorical shenanigans of arrogant ideological idiots and religious fanatics 'fueled' by obscene amounts of wealth obtained from the most greedy rulers of the world in our time.

Irrespective of one's position on C02 and global warming, I personally think it is a good thing to restore forests and ecosystems as much as possible. Restoration of forests provides many benefits:

* Improved habitat for local species
* Protection of watershed and improvements in water availability and quality
* Creation of sustainable green industry (such as honey production, medicinal plants, fruits, etc...)
* If properly managed, a sustainable source of forestry products

All of the above will contribute to the economy and quality of life in surrounding communities.

CO2 is a trace gas in our atmosphere. It is not going to cause us to suffocate. Trees are a good thing, They hold soil and mitigate erosion. They provide timber and beauty. If we really wanted to protect forests, we would pressure the governments to transfer more property to the private sector. Ownership by an individual is the best way to foster stewardship.

In any event, don't worry about CO2 being a toxin. It is not and without it, trees die. So do all other plants. And then us.

I don't see how planting trees can make much of a difference since plants also use the Krebs byble to live and the Krebs cycle gives off CO2 as well as Oxygen.
