Great story! There are many aspects of this research going on at present. An engineer in Georgia has developed a process inspired by cow flatulence to use bacteria and any biomass to create methane and use it as a fuel for internal combustion engines. Scientists in England have discovered that the excrement of certain bacteria feeding on any biomass is actually a very pure crude oil! These and the discovery of similar substances on the moons of Saturn might even indicate that crude oil is not a finite resource, but one that is continually renewing itself. Makes sense that the process of decaying biomass producing crude oil did not suddenly stop thousands of years ago, but is continuing today. Has anyone heard of composting?

Thanks so much, when my technology teacher first said I had to find out about fuel cells without copying and pasting I nearly died! But when I found this site I understood everything. I would pursed anyone who is interested in going green to have a look at this site and read it thirdly and then rethink what we are doing! Thanks allot 9C

This is the kind of technology we need to be pursuing. Imagine how much sooner we could apply such technology to our lives if we were not spending money on rediculous ideas such as ethonal. anybody who supports ethonal needs to further research it.In reality ethonal will not lessen our impact on the environment. those who support ethonal are simply misinformed. i urge anyone interested in alternative fuels to consider all the factors associated with ethonal. do some research and make an informed decision.
